Information zur Band in Arbeit!

Support: UXL

UXL BIOGRAPHY

Young British rock band UXL are made up of the three Tierney brothers and friend Dan Clark and are becoming one of the most talked about new bands around. Their music is a combination of energy and melody that draws on the varied musical influences of Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd and U2. UXL are essentially a melodic rock band with an epic sound but they can do controlled minimalistic, pop-rock, semi-acoustic and just about everything inbetween.

Their debut album 'Can I Dream Again?' has attracted some great reviews and they have started to gain attention in North America with their recent appearance at Canadian Music Week and widespread radio airplay resulting in a top 5 chart position in the U.S. radio charts.

Remarkably, half of the foursome are still only teenagers, yet they have accomplished many things in their time together as a band. They have played at festivals across the UK, recorded an acoustic session at the BBC studios, and met Metallica's FOH sound engineer the legendary big Mick Hughes who described UXL's frontman JohnTierney as having 'one of the most powerful voices he had ever heard.' UXL have previously supported support Wishbone Ash and last year supported Magnum on the UK leg of their Princess Alice Tour. They are to perform at Atlantis Music Festival and Conference later this year in Atlanta, U.S.A. and are proud to have been invited to support Magnum once again on the European leg of their Wings of Heaven Tour 2008.

MUSIC CONNECTION

'UXL could be massive Stateside- destined for major attention.'

MUSICIAN MAGAZINE

'A band destined for greatness. . .they have a massive sound, play remarkably mature melodic rock, and in 19-year-old singer John Tierney have a vocalist of rare talent.'  GET READY TO ROCK

'Every now and again you come across something that really makes you sit up and take notice. It really shouldn't be this good. These guys deserve to be huge.' CLASSIC ROCK SOCIETY

Great Britain's UXL are a melodic hard rock quartet who have a knack for transitioning their guitar flourishes from roaring bonfires to softly rolling landscapes. The push and pull in the chord dynamics create a tugging effect that riles up a rashness of the vocals and the melodic spurring. The crushing thumps of the rhythms are wicked and tied in with the guitars, they create ravishing melodic masses. UXL show intensity and good melodic instincts that is beyond their ages, some of them just barely touching the twenty-year mark.

UXL's songs weigh heavy in their lyrics and music. There is a majestic air in their melodies and vocals that harkens of classic metal bands while infusing a modern vitality in their tunage. Their album is the best of both worlds showing conviction in their vocal talons and being congruent with their hardcore edges. 9/10
